The Liberal Party
Lives: Lilli Pilli
1. What is the most important message you have received from the community during this election campaign?
The people of this electorate want a good, strong, effective government. They want and are entitled to better roads, health services, educational opportunities and environmental protection. The Baird Government is delivering in all these areas across our region.
After 16 years of Labor, the Baird Government turned this state around. NSW is now the number one economy in Australia. We have balanced the budget and are delivering record spends in health, roads and education. Through good management comes increased infrastructure, with infrastructure comes employment, and through employment comes better retail trade and more opportunities for people in our region.
2. How has your focus changed since the start of the election campaign?
My focus has and will always be the people of the Bega Electorate. I have not changed my focus for the past 12 years.
I am passionate about delivering on all the things that were neglected by Labor during their time in government and I look forward to keeping NSW number one.
Everyday as your local member I have committed to ensuring those in this electorate get a fair go and a fair share.
3. How will you/your party improve the Eurobodalla’s economy?
We have committed record funds to projects that will have a huge economic and social benefit to our region.
We are investing in infrastructure for the future, creating jobs and keeping NSW moving.
We have committed $75 million to increase the regional industries and investment fund, which will deliver new jobs in country areas, and we will extend our payroll tax rebates for another four years. We will also establish an incentive to encourage non-payroll tax paying businesses to hire additional employees.
We are investing at record levels in the Kings and Princes highways, allowing more people to move safely around our region.
4. Why should residents vote for you?
The Baird Government has a positive plan for regional NSW and I will ensure that everyone in our region gets their fair share.
As NSW Treasurer, I have made clear my commitment to our communities. I firmly believe that we are entitled to the best schools, TAFE institutes and hospitals.
We are delivering more nurses, police, teachers and paramedics and I will continue to serve my constituency to the highest degree.
5. Is there anything else you would like to add?
Our schools are better resourced than ever before thanks to NSW signing up to the Gonski reforms.
The NDIS is on its way and will give those with a disability a voice and choice.
We are committed to reducing domestic and family violence and NSW will have Australia’s first Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Minister.
Our region and our state is strong. Mike Baird and I have a positive plan for the Bega electorate, and with your support on March 28, I will continue to deliver for the region.
