The boardwalk was listed as a priority after a community survey in June 2014.
Tuross Head Progress Association president Gary Cooper was happy with the draft plans and said the boardwalk would complete the area.
“It will make it far more scenic,” Mr Cooper said.
“It will be the best view around the place.
“This is the missing section of the pathway between Tuross boat ramp and Anderson Avenue.”
Mr Cooper hopes to see the project completed within 18 months.
“The planning isn’t final but I would hope to see work start in the next financial year,” he said.
“I am looking forward to its completion.
“It will mean there will be a pathway from one side of Tuross to the other along the seashore.”
Mr Cooper said he would not change anything on the plans at this stage.
“People gave mainly positive comments on the plan,” he said.
“The only thing that has been changed is the allowance for a bigger viewing platform.
“That way it will accommodate more people and wedding parties.”
Tuross resident Leigh Edwards suggested stairs to a grassed area be added to the plan to allow for use of the space.
“That would provide an opportunity for people to use the grassed area off the boardwalk,” he said.
“If you don’t put stairs in, that area will be blocked off and won’t be used.”
Mr Edwards commended the concept of the viewing platform.
Eurobodalla Shire Council’s director of infrastructure services Warren Sharpe was pleased with the community’s response.
“We have had very positive comments,” Mr Sharpe said.
“We extended the viewing platform to make the most of the view.
“To maximise the view we will lop a couple of trees.”
Mr Sharpe said people would take advantage of the boardwalk once it was complete.
“It is such a beautiful place,” he said.
“People will take their wedding photos here.
“I believe it will be a tourism drawcard.
“The platform will give you a full panorama of Tuross Beach.”
Mr Sharpe said he would recommend to council that the project be funded in the 2015-16 budget.
“We have applied for grant funding but won’t know if we are successful for some time,” he said.
“Funds from the sale of the Progress Hall land will also go towards it.”
Mr Sharpe said he could not put a timeframe on the completion of the project until funding was confirmed.
