The juniors hit the field first and Eurobodalla Hockey Association president Gail Brown was impressed by the players’ ability.
“The junior game showed that we have some future Australian players with some really good skills,” Brown said.
The first senior game had Blue take on Red.
Red had most of the possession for the first five minutes and took advantage when Sue Donaldson scored.
Blue upped the ante with Hannah Wallett showing her skills from playing on turf to score with a nice reverse stick shot.
Blue kept the pressure on and Wallett added two more goals.
Blue’s pocket rocket, Olivia Stafford, set her dad, Luke Stafford, up to score.
Red scored next but Blue was not finished as Luke Stafford scored again, with Blue winning 5-3.
In the second senior game, White tackled Grey.
The two teams went back and forth all game with several scoring opportunities narrowly missed.
“Alexa Warwick showed some really good skills as well as good positioning and Rick, Melissa and Josh combined well for White,” Brown said.
“The combination of Ros, Blake and Steve Smith for Grey thwarted any attack for White.”
The game ended nil-all, a fitting score line.
