With 54 exhibitors, and more than 600 people through the door, organisers of the 2009 South Coast Bridal Expo said the event was the most successful of its kind in recent years.
Batemans Bay Soldiers Club event manager Andrea Thompson says the event is an important one for the region, because it showcases local businesses and products.
“We were over the moon with the number of people who came through the door,” she said.
“All exhibitors reported having a great day.”
Artistic Images photographer Amanda Middleton says she knew the event would have the support of the local community, but was overwhelmed by the response from outside the region.
“I don’t think anyone knew just how successful it was going to be,” she said.
“The Soldiers Club was the perfect host. It always presents beautifully to people from out of town.
“With a constant flow of brides from the moment the doors opened, we were all overwhelmed with the amount of business this event alone brought to our local community.”
Ms Middleton said many brides were prepared to travel some distance to be married on the South Coast.
“Most of them bring everything they need with them, simply because they are unaware of what is available here,” she said.
“This event gives brides an opportunity to see that our area is brimming with bridal services. We have a vast array of talented, professional people who will guide you through your wedding day from start to finish.”
Ms Middleton extended her congratulations to Ms Thompson and the
Bay Post/Moruya Examiner’s Melissa Ricketson for a wonderful expo.
“I will definitely take part next year,” she said.
“To be able to show people the talent available on the South Coast, and to have them book your services as a result, is very rewarding.”
