It was a fantastic return to form for the club after battling the effects of consistent rain in the region for weeks and the impact of COVID for the previous two years.
"We were so lucky with the weather we had over the weekend," MJC Executive Officer Ken Brown said.
"We had about four great days of sun prior to dry out the field, it was still a heavy track but a lot better than what it had been in recent weeks."
With the club sitting on the water table, Mr Brown said if it had been a week earlier the tracks wouldn't have been race-worthy.
Luckily that wasn't the case and the day went ahead without a hitch.
The event was comprised of six different races with the first kicking of at 12:45pm and the last being run at 4:00pm.
In between the races were some awesome events highlighted by a fantastic Fashions on the Field.
Which showcased a group of contestants all dressed to impressed in their weekend best.
All the races were competitive and hard fought with a number of locals securing big wins.
Brett Jones and Macks Doubt took out the Insurance Advisernet Australia BM50 over 1010m.
Jamie Stewart's horse Secadia secured a big win in the C&D Coastal Care Handicap over 1300m.
Michael Gatty from Rush Park Racing and his horse Urjuwaan ran big to take home the victory in the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club BM 50 over 1650m.
While successful races were the aim of the day, Mr Brown said the highlight for him was just seeing everyone down at the racetrack having a great time.
"It was just a really nice family atmosphere, and that's what we are always trying to create," he said.
"To see everyone out and about again was just fantastic."
The next race will be the Tuross/Bodalla Cup Day on May 22
