Club president, Peter Ryan, said the Boars have been actively recruiting for the last month, and so far have roughly 11 or 12 players confirmed.
"We'd just like to get another handful of players, at least five or six, so we've got a really good squad when people are unavailable or injured," Ryan said.
There is no shortage of talented female rugby players in and around Batemans Bay, Ryan said, and should they pull enough together for a side, he expects they will be competitive in 2022.
"These girls really commit to it," Ryan said.
"They're easy to coach because they listen and take advice on board, they've got no fear, their tackle technique is generally very good - they learn very quickly to go down low and not go headhunting.
"We think they'd go well next season."
Importantly, there exists a clear pathway for local women to work their way up the representative ranks.
This, Ryan said, is crucial to ensure female players know that they can build the base for a solid career at the club, if that is their goal.
"We've got a current girl who was a Batemans Bay junior from age 10 to 13," Ryan said.
"Bonnie Brewer, she's now playing with the Royals in Canberra and also in the Brumbies squad. She's also keen to have a run in our 7s side.
"But there's a good pathway for girls if they want to go all the way, if they're really committed and have aspirations to go through to the highest level, it is a pathway to start at club level and build from there.
"Having someone like her on board is a good role model for young girls to follow."
The 7s side to which Ryan alluded will take part in the Kiama 7s competition, an annual pre-season tournament which draws a huge number of teams from across the state to compete across three divisions.
This, Ryan said, will hopefully prove a good opportunity for team-building and helping the newer female players to solidify their technique.
"We'll be looking at it as a good introduction to rugby and a good bonding session," he said.
The club will hold an initial training and introductory session for the players in the next couple of weeks. The date is yet to be confirmed, but further information will be posted to the club's Facebook page when available.
