Emergency services responded to a fire at a home in Tuross Head, believed to be on Monash Avenue, just after 11.30am on Wednesday, June 30, according to a Fire and Rescue spokesman.
"There was a small amount of smoke issuing from the home, and further investigations are underway," he said.
"It looks like a bystander has put the blaze out with an extinguisher, and firefighters are there to finish it off, black it out, and make sure it doesn't reignite."
The spokesman said the initial belief is the fire began in the home's switchboard.
