The Moruya Saturday Golfers played the January monthly medal round with the following results - A Grade Medal Martin Ganderton with 69 net, A Grade Gross Andrew Ganderton with 75.
B Grade Medal Peter Flannery with 68 net, B Grade Gross Dave Ison with 85. C Grade Medal Geoff Andrew with 73 net, C Grade Gross Chris Earl with 90. Ball Rundown went to 79 net on c/b.
Catalina ladies golf
The Catalina Lady Golfers are back. Despite the high temperature on Wednesday, 76 eager Ladies participated in the Opening Day of their 2021 competition. To combat the expected high temperatures, many sought refuges in golf carts, a number pushed buggies armed with umbrellas and any opportunity to gain shade from overhanging trees was considered an advantage. Hats and water were mandatory as was oodles of sunscreen. Well done to all ladies that participated considering the conditions.

First: Eileen A Davis (24) 38 points. Second: Courtney Vincent (17) 36 points. Third: Cathie Flynn (20) 35 points. Fourth: Jo Taylor (13) 35 points.
Division 2
First: Helen Wise (30) 38 points. Second: Sue Demamiel (27) 37 points. Third: Sue Charls-Hartley (28) 36 points. Fourth: Deborah Buchanan (28) 35 points.
Division 3
First: Anne Edwards (41) 36 points. Second: Julie Farrell (34) 34 points. Third: Robyn Kennedy (39) 34 points. Fourth: Gay Kable (45) 33 points. The ball count went to 31 points.
Tuross Head Country Club
Tuross Head Country Club men's golf Saturday Medley Stableford competition was won by Ian Kingston who led the field home with a score of 38 points.
Ian was closely followed by Shane Gschwend 37 points.
Graeme Bell also recorded 37 points but was relegated to third position on a countback.
Paul Israel with 36 points and Jason Nikolic with 35 points filled the remaining award positions.
NTPs were won by Mick Ganderton on the 4th hole, Tim Watson won the 6th and Stephen Hodge the 7th hole.
Golfers are reminded that the Memorial Shoey Classic two person Ambrose competition is on Australia Day, Tuesday, January 26.
This week's Tuesday's medley stableford competition was a closely fought event with the first four players all finishing with 38 stableford points.
Shirley Quinlan was nominated as the eventual winner on a countback ahead of Allan Longford, Lachlan Nordsvan, Glen Shearer and Richard Wharton.
NTPs were won by Rob McDonell on the 4th hole, Lachlan Nordsvan won the 6th and Stuart McKell the 7th.
A reminder to golfers, when entering the club to register for your game, to use the QR code and scan your THCC membership card. If you do not have a smart phone to use the QR code there is a special THCC sign in sheet at reception.
Do not use the 'golf' sheet that is only for social golf.
Bowls
Malua Bay women's bowls
Last Tuesday was the first day back for ladies bowls so everyone was welcomed by president Sue Beavan .
Bowls was actually planned for last week but greens were closed due to inclement weather the day before. However the get together to honour the life of dear friend and member Di Mooy who recently passed away was still held. Sincere condolences to Di's Family and friends.
We are able to use two greens once again so no limit on numbers. Winners on a drawn card, Tricia Wheeler, Olga Geshwend and Sue Beavan. Runners-up, Carol Harris, Sonia Frey and Margaret Bridges. Jan Shalders tried for Jackpot but unlucky to be one off the lucky number . Better luck next time Jan when Jackpot will be over $900. Money Club winners on 18, Anne O'Dwyer, 10, Fran Lucas. Happy Birthday greetings to Pat Biddolph.
Lists are up for District Singles to be bowled at Club Narooma, Pairs at Dalmeny. Thank you to all members who attended Working Bee last Monday getting things ready for State Finals which will be held the first week in February at Club Malua and Club Tomakin .
Friendly Friday
There were 42 bowlers on the greens on a very warm but quite windy day , where the ladies and men bowl together. Winners, Sarah Field and Olga Geshwend. Runners-up, Bev Keatley and Michael Cakolic.
Lucky number winners on 26, John Signor and 34, Allan Matthews. Money Club winner on 25 Sid Morris. Happy Birthday greetings to Errol Bill for last Saturday.
Bowls Organiser David Thomas advised that ladies bowling with the men on Wednesday must be affiliated with the men's club.
Eurobodalla walkers
Eurobodalla Walkers will continue every Wednesday starting February 3 with a full program of walks on and around the spectacular Far South Coast.
February walks are Batehaven, Tuross Heads, Mossy Point and Meringo Dreamtime Track.
If you would like to join this friendly group, for only $5 a year for some refreshing exercise, while enjoying the company of new friends, just contact either: Margaret Fletcher 4472 4886 or Carol D'Evelynes 4472 3504.
A spokesperson for the walkers said, "All our walks begin at 11am sharp and last from one to one and a half hours, or less, depending on one's ability. Afterwards we enjoy a BYO picnic lunch together, so bring a chair/seat to be comfortable. Good walking shoes and protection from the weather is all that is needed to join our group."
