Musical theatre has featured in the last few weeks and it's wonderful to see the group tackle acting, singing and choreography with such enthusiasm.
One of the musicals Youth Theatre are exploring is Annie, the story of a young orphan in a New York.
The kids are having a marvellous time performing "It's the Hard Knock Life", all about the tough life in the orphanage, complete with mops, buckets and scrubbing brushes.
Youth Theatre are also working on mini plays, scenes, and monologues with everyone finding their strengths to bring to the pieces.
As props and costumes are added over the coming weeks it will be exciting to watch the kids develop their characters to bring to the stage.
Youth Theatre workshops are on every Sunday from 1pm - 3.30pm until 13 December 2020.
All young people aged 8 to 18 are welcome to join in the fun of Youth Theatre, please contact Lyn Sterling on 0416 181 003 or email lsterling@bigpond.com
Adult Play Workshop
The Bay Theatre Players are thrilled to present an opportunity to workshop the play, A Good Man, with local playwright, musician and author Stafford Ray.
A Good Man is based on true events during the upheaval of WW2 which directly impacted and affected his family.
If you wish to get back on stage without the angst of learning lines or you are free from rehearsals, this might be an opportunity to keep your acting skills up to date.
Theatre play workshops allow a play to be staged without props, costumes, sets or musical accompaniment, while providing the opportunity for the author to edit and review their work.
The workshop is on Saturday, December 5, 10am to 3.30pm, at the playhouse, 33 Gregory St, Batemans Bay.
We will need four female and six male actors, with the roles ranging in age from mid-twenties to 60+.
Due to the adult themes, it is not suitable for players under 18 years of age.
