Transport for NSW says electrical work and traffic signal relocations would be carried out from 7pm to 5am, weather permitting.
A detour would be in place for light vehicles via Clyde Street east and North Street, and motorists were advised to plan their journey with an additional five minutes travel time.
Traffic control, lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h would be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists were advised to follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
