Far South Coast RFS superintendent John Cullen said investigations into the cause of the fire will continue.
Mr Cullen said Eurobodalla RFS crews have attended seven incidents over the past four days.
He said property owners need to contact the fire control centre and notify neighbours 24-hours before planning to burn.
"Care needs to be taken," he said.
"The countryside is drying out, frost has zapped moisture out of the ground which has increased the danger of grass fires in the area.
"The soil moisture is a whole lot drier than this time last year.
"Ensure you have adequate control lines, adequate resources and knowledge to do the burn."
Mr Cullen said many of the incidents RFS had attended were re-ignitions of old burns which had been completed.
"Please watch the weather; go back and check for heat and make sure there is no open fire," he said.
During this dry winter, Mr Cullen urges the community to have effective fire safety plans.
"There are simple things you can do to prepare your property," he said.
"Continue to have a conversation about how you would manage your family and animals."
