Malua Bay Men
The district rounds of the pennant season have now been completed with Malua Bay winners in grades 3 and 6 and achieving second place in grades 5 and 7.
The grade 3 and 6 sides will now compete in the Zone playoffs which will be held on the weekend of 18/19 May.
These two sides will play the winners of the northern district grades 3 and 6. If successful they will then play the winners of the far south coast district.
Last Wednesday's triples winners were Alan Mathews, David Rees and Sid Morris.
Thursday's open pairs winners were Murray O'Bryan and Allen Holloway and the runners up were Alan Foote and Ron Beeley.
Malua Bay Women
What a beautiful day for bowls last Tuesday, there were 17 social bowlers also those playing Pennant matches.
Winners on 3 points a win + 1 point an end Anna Stewart, Jan Tonks and Cecily White.
Runners-up on highest margin Gayl Vidgen, Bess Holloway and Julie Lewis.
Other winning team Judy Lane, Jeanette Whalley and Karen Signor.
Raffle winners, Raija Johnston and Erica Strahan.
FRIENDLY FRIDAY
Not a lot of bowlers on the Easter weekend but all present had some great games.
Winners, David Daverin and Noleen Taylor. Money club winner, Judy Armstrong.
All affiliated bowlers welcome to Friendy Friday, names in by 9am on the greens at 10am, dress casual.
Tomakin Twist Tops
What a beautiful warm sunny Easter Sunday for the 39 bowlers on the greens.
Many thanks to our committee for the terrific barbecue breakfast, much appreciated.
President Steven welcomed everyone, letting us know that Yass will not be visiting in early May due to Pennant commitments in ACT. We will still be visiting them in September.
The day started off with a "Spider", men on one green women on the other, winners Janet Smith and Neil Power.
Breakfast Trays won by Kaz and Babe.
Winners were those with least winning ends +5 Bob Starkovski and Barry Thurlow.
Runners-up Judy Hancock and Jennie Hogan +6.
Bob drew Rink 5 to try for Jackpot of $250, Jennie did the honours and was 1 off the Joker, only found the 9 of Spades.
Tomakin Men's Bowls
Social Triples: Thursday, April 18.
This week we welcomed Tom Tirrell and Wayne Ross who were visitors from Adelaide.
The winners were Tom Tirrell, Graham Jones, and Steve Hall with a margin of plus 34.
The runners up were Vince Fisher, Henry Garad, and Steve Gigg with a plus 16.
The jackpot draw went to the winning skip on rink 10. With only nine cards left in the deck, Ross Hardy just missed out on winning the $510 jackpot.
Zone 7 Junior Championships, April 17 and 18.
Tomakin junior bowlers Stuart Megee and Nick Tiyce put on a great display of bowls at the Zone 7 Junior Championships held over two days at the Narooma Bowling Club.
Nick Tiyce claimed victory as the Zone Junior Singles Champion when he defeated Jake Barnes from Cooma.
Nick then combined with Stuart Megee, and both young men put on a fine performance of draw bowls in the Zone Junior Pairs, defeating Hayden Anderson and Josh Allman from Far South Coast.
Nick and Stuart joined Hayden Batson from Nowra, and Stephen Bowerman from Callala in the Zone Junior Fours defeating Charlie McCudden, Christian Allman, Pierce Hayes, and Reese Fin-Young from Far South Coast.
Although it was a nice hat-trick for our local boys it was also great to see so many up and coming juniors giving it their best shot.
Lightning Pairs Tournament: Monday, April 22.
Many thanks to the 28 sides who competed in the Lightning Pairs at Tomakin.
First prize winners were Henry Butler and Tony Robinson, second place went to Jason Hossack and Greg Wale, third place winners were Tim Kovaks and Steve Rootsey, and fourth place went to Doug Ebsworth and Tony Giannasca.
Best game winners were Stuart and Brett Megee, Steve Maher and Robyn Best, Di Ziebell and Janet Smith, Steve Gigg and Nick Tiyce, Bob Alexander and Dave Dearing.

Narooma Men
Wednesday Men's Triples, April 17. 40 bowlers enjoyed another spectacular South Coast day.
The Lowest Winning Score went to 'The Mighty Knighty', Kevin Mitchell and Ray Gale in an 18-13 win from Col Armstrong, Brian Seaman and Dennis Maggs.
Runners-Up were Rod Holman, Alan Chisholm and Peter Jones 18-14 from Barry Goodwin, Ken Burrows and Bruce Rapkins.
Saturday Men, April 20. 24 bowlers enjoyed Lucky Rink which went to Les Waldock and Nev Butt 23-19 over John McNamara and R.Heus.
Runners Up were C.Campbell, C.Lee and 'Shorty' 26-12 from Bobby Robbins, 'Wassa' and Bill Wilton.
Sunday Mixed Social, April 21: Another good day with the Highest Winning Margin going to Mavis Hardy, Sue Wales and Merrie Downie with a 22-12 win from Cindy Newell, Peter Vos and Pat Wood.
Runners Up were Lee, Darrel Goodrich and Bruce Rapkins 19-10 over Lou Moore, Gary Murano and John Downie.
Minor Singles 2nd round. Graham Cummins and Alan Chisholm met in the 2nd round draw with Graham eventually overcoming Alan 31-26.
Narooma Women
Narooma Women's Bowling Club held their weekly bowls game on April 16.
The weather was just perfect for lawn bowls, and our renovated green played beautifully.
Winners were A. Robinson and L. Mitchell with the lowest winning score.The raffle 1st prize to D. Holman and 2nd prize to D. Kenny.
Club Dalmeny
Only 20 players due to ladies pennant commitments (congrats on a great win at home against competition leaders) played under cloudy skies but in fine conditions on Thursday where secret ends decided the winners on 9 points in Dine-back Streamer and Shark Finn from the runners-up after a 2-way count-back on 6 points in President Pete and Chef Keith.
Hook-ara Wort scored the first resting toucher and the $105 jackpot was not won.
