Bay Theatre Players’ senior youth and young adults are proud to be bringing to the stage their version of the ever-popular and very amusing Debra Oswald play, DAGS, which opens on Friday, March 29. The cast are busy honing their comedic skills, and director Di Minihan is confident of a great show.
You can support the young cast by purchasing tickets for DAGS online at www.trybooking.com/BAJHZ or in person from 10am through to 12 noon, Saturday mornings only, at the theatre Box Office located at 33 Gregory Street, Batemans Bay.
Debra Oswald’s stage plays have been produced around Australia. Gary’s House, Sweet Road and The Peach Season were all shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Literary Award and her play DAGS has had many Australian productions. Gary’s House has been performed in translation in Denmark and Japan. Mr Bailey’s Minder broke the Griffin Theatre’s box office record in 2004, toured nationally in 2006 and was produced in Philadelphia in 2008. Debra has written three plays for the Australian Theatre for Young People; Skate, Stories in the Dark (NSW Premier’s Literary Play Award in 2008) and House on Fire (2010). Eight of Debra’s plays are published by Currency Press.
The theatre’s Village Centre pop-up stall will also be selling tickets for our current raffle. The lucky winners of the three fabulous prizes will be drawn at the end of the final matinee performance of DAGS on Sunday, April 7.
