Marine Rescue NSW region operations manager for Monaro, Glenn Sullivan, said an upturned catamaran was found by a charter vessel near the Tollgate Islands just after 6am on January 15.
Mr Sullivan said Batemans Bay Marine Rescue, Westpac Life Saver 23, NSW Police and Roads and Maritime Services attended the scene and conducted a search of the area.
He said no personal belongings or markings were found during the search and Marine Rescue was towing the boat to Batemans Bay so police could undertake further investigations.
A Westpac Life Saver 23 spokesperson said there were no signs of people in distress.
“Our rescue crew officer has been winched onto the boat (and) confirmed that no person is on board. Nothing further was located in extensive air and sea search,” a Westpac Life Saver 23 spokesperson said.
More details as they come to hand.
