The young-horse classes were a feature of the Dressage By The Sea festival, on Saturday, February 24.
Adams rode two home-bred horses in the five-year-old class: Baby Blue, sired by Jaybee Excellent, and Cool Hand Aloof, sired by Royal Hit.
The judges awarded them scores of 72.6% and 71.4% respectively, commenting the horses showed potential for the sport.
The five-year-old class was won by Gina Montgomery’s imported stallion Braveax; the impressive stallion scored 90.4%, which reflected his massive paces and potential.
The international competition continued with the Grand Prix Special (CDI) test. Despite several small mistakes, Alexis Hellyer had a brilliant ride on Bluefields Floreno to win the event, replicating her result in the Grand Prix yesterday, with a score of 69.23%. Runner up was Shannan Goodwin riding Aristede on 68.83%.
