The crash happened south of Sussex Inlet Road about 5.30am on Friday.
Lengthy diversions are in place, with the highway expected to remain closed for some time.
Southbound light vehicles are being diverted onto Turpentine Road at Tomerong, then Braidwood and Nerriga roads to Braidwood, before joining the Kings Highway to return to the Princes Highway at Batemans Bay.
