The Bega MP’s comments followed an accident this morning, Friday, November 17, and a life-threatening accident on November 6.
“Every accident is different, and I don’t know the cause of these accidents,” he said, speaking to the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner in Batemans Bay.
“What we do know is that it is a dangerous section of road, where a concentration of accidents are happening.
“In the mid- to long-term, we need to investigate and invest in solutions.
“If the concern is speed, we need to consider trying to change driver behaviour.”
A man and a woman were hospitalised after the November 17 accident. A NSW Health spokesperson said both victims were in a stable condition, but would be transferred to The Canberra Hospital for trauma investigation.
A mother is fighting for her life in a Sydney hospital after the November 6 accident.
