The Batemans Bay Boars Junior Rugby Union Club celebrated their successful season at Hanging Rock on Saturday, September 9.
Club President Kennie Croaker kicked off the night, which saw a number of youngsters take home awards.
Junior Club President Peter Ryan wasn’t able to attend, but his congratulatory messages for both the U11s and U13s were read out.
Both junior sides won premierships this year, which is a fantastic achievement for any sporting club.
The U13s won their first premiership as a group, and they were well lead by coach John Curtis and assistant coach Greg Humphries.
The U11s won their second premiership in just their second year in the competition.
Coach Brendon Campbell won the Club Person of the Year award to commemorate his achievements with the youngsters.
There were many players in both teams who were unlucky to miss out on individual awards, but every player received a beautiful trophy, and no one can take their premiership medals away.
U11s captain Lachlan Collier backed up the U13s team whenever he was required due to a run of injuries they experienced during the season.
He is a wonderful little player and has the heart of a lion, and his loyalty to the club is exceptional.
Inspirational U13s captain Bonnie Brewer has unfortunately played her final game with the boys that she has led around the park for the past four years, but she has an exciting future in women’s sevens to look forward to.
