The 31st Far South Coast Careers Market will be held Tuesday, August 2 at Moruya Basketball Stadium and Pavilion.
A large crowd of parents, students and jobseekers are expected at the annual event, of which Southern Phone is the major sponsor.
The day begins at 10am and will see seven of the South Coast’s high schools bring students from years 10, 11 and 12.
The main focus of the Careers Market is to provide a wide range of career options to students and the wider community of the Eurobodalla.
These options included employment opportunities, tertiary education and training organisations and employment related support services.
The market increases awareness of various career and training pathways, including school based apprenticeships and traineeships, part-time, seasonal and casual work.
Access to the market also helps students with decision making regarding senior subject selections. There will be approximately 50 exhibitors attending on the day.
These include Eurobodalla Shire Council, Department of Human Services, University of Wollongong, Australian National University, TAFE Illawarra, Australian Defence Force Academy, NSW Police, TEACH NSW, University Admissions Centre and many businesses in Eurobodalla.

Short, sharp chats speed up careers
A ‘Speed Careering’ session for students will be held in the pavilion at the Far South Coast Careers Market this year.
Based on the well-known speed dating format, Speed Careering will involve local community members from various industries career paths having short, intimate conversations with students about what they do and how they do it.
The idea is to allow students to network and have a brief but intense exposure to many different career paths in a short period of time.
Get a taste for TAFE
Careers market participants will have a sweet time at Moruya TAFE’s commercial cookery display, with hands-on activities like cake decorating.
TAFE will also have representatives from building, welding, early childhood, business services, aged care, hairdressing and more.
Students and other attendees are encouraged to talk to teaching staff about career options in the wide range of industries and trades on offer.
