Police have vowed to catch the vandals, who drove onto the 1st green sometime on Wednesday night or early Thursday from nearby Golf Course Road and committed a series of burnouts.
The level of damage to the green and multiple tyre tracks led police to believe more than one vehicle was involved.
An angry North Tamborine Police Sergeant Mick Jones labelled the vandals “pure scum”.
“We’re going to get these idiots and when we do I’ll personally drag them through the centre of town to make an example out of them,” he said.
Sergeant Jones launched an Facebook appeal on Thursday in the hopes of identifying those responsible.
It is the second time the Tamborine Mountain Golf Club has been targeted in 2016, with a similar incident in January on the same green causing about $3000 worth of damage.
Club greenskeeper Wayne Moore said the damage would mean the 1st green was out of action for about two months.
“The damage is quite severe, it’s going to be a lot of work to reseed it and get it back to standard,” he said.
“I’m not happy, there’s a bunch of lowlifes out there who have got nothing better to do.”
A temporary green has been cut to ensure the course is still playable.
Mr Moore, who has been the club’s greenskeeper for 14 years, said the vandalism had been a regular issue during his time there.
He said the club had began investigating the idea of installing bollards to stop vehicles accessing the course, and would soon apply for a state government grant to cover part of the cost.
