The Sharks proved that they can play to instructions and for each other.
Bega opened the scoring with a good try early in the match to take a 4-nil lead.
The Sharks attacked the Roosters’ territory and broke through with a try by Lockie McDiarmid.
The Roosters scored out wide but missed the conversion and it was 8-4 at half-time.
Sharks were the first to score after the break through centre Bayley-Jay Evans and levelled the game at 8-all.
McDiarmid and Evans scored another try each and one was converted to give Moruya an 18-8 lead.
The Roosters hit back with a converted try but two more tries to Evans and Jarrod Brunhuber gave the Sharks a well-deserved win.
Under 10s pinch thriller
THE Sharks under 10s recorded their first win of the season with a close 19-18 win against Bega on Saturday.
The Roosters put 50 points on the Sharks in the last match but the extra emphasis on defence at training paid off for Moruya-Tuross.
Coach Justin Zutt said all players played well.
Second half surge
THE Moruya-Tuross Sharks under 14s remain undefeated this season.
It trailed 12-4 at the break to the Roosters but flipped momentum in the second half to win 28-18.
The best players for the Sharks were Ben Wiggins, Aiden Gaffey, Treigh Stewart and Ant Henry.
Roosters crow in under 16s
THE Bega Roosters handed Moruya its first loss of the season and won 24-6 on Saturday.
At half-time it was 6-all but the Roosters took advantage of Moruya’s short bench and injuries to post a win.
Brendan Blackmore scored for the Sharks with Jack Hyndes kicking the only attempt at goal.
The best for the Sharks were Kane Duncan, Fin McNaughton and Alex Saines.
Hard-fought draw
THE Moruya-Tuross Sharkettes were held to an 8-all draw against the Bega Chicks girls’ league tag team on Saturday.
Hallee Keaton scored both of Moruya’s tries and the team’s improved play, at the right end of the season, is impressing coach Naomi Place.
Shana Nye, Georgie Hirst and Keira Evans had good games for the junior Sharkettes.
