Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is investigating measures for the notorious, winding, steep stretch of the Princes Highway.
There were nine recorded crashes on the stretch in the year to June 30, 2014, including one fatality and two injuries.
In the five years to June 2013, there 64 recorded crashes, including 31 which resulted in injuries.
An RMS spokesman said a concrete barrier about 1km long was installed in late 2011 to reduce head-on crash risk.
Last week, there were two single-vehicle accidents on the stretch, in wet weather.
“A 90km/h speed limit is in place to improve safety,” the spokesman said.
“RMS is working with Eurobodalla Shire Council to develop a safe connection on the Princes Highway for the South Batemans Bay link road.”
