The Rally of the Bay is back for 2013.
After originally being washed out in June, the rescheduled Rally of the Bay will be held on Saturday, October 19, in and around Batemans Bay, making it the final round of the 2013 NSW Rally Championship.
According to Rally of the Bay manager Colin Fletcher, the new spring date has meant a lot of extra work but is set to attract a huge field and will be one of the highlights of the 2013 NSW Championship.
"The Batemans Bay area has long been held in high regard for its rally roads and as a fantastic base for the sport of rallying and it is great to be able to continue the tradition of top level rallying at the Bay," Fletcher said.
Features of the Rally will include the ceremonial opening, this year being held on Clyde Street, as well as the Rally dinner, with a variety of guest speakers to entertain with stories of rallies past, and the events themselves.
With over 140km of rallying planned over three categories of events, including Introductory, Clubsman, and the Championship, and more than 60 competitors already signed up, the organizers of the event, the North Shore Sporting Car Club (NSSCC), are promising a highly organized, efficient, low-stress event.
The rally will kick off with the ceremonial start on Saturday at 10am, with the first cars due to hit the finish line at 7pm.
