Competition winners, corporate sponsors and council, forestry and media representatives acted as navigator in a special "media stage" over a 4.16km course.
The course took an average of three minutes to traverse and served as a warm-up competitors.
Cars involved in the media stage included a Ford Escort, Suburu WRX, Hyundai Excel, and Mitsubishi Lancer.
John McCallum, Alan Moon, Tyron Youman Brice, Gary Godwin and Lee Backhouse had rides in the rally cars after winning the opportunity through the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner's Friday Bonanza.
Tyron, 15, a student at Moruya High School and self-confessed revhead, loved every minute.
"It was exhilarating," he said, after climbing out of a Toyota Celica.
"It was great. The best part was going loosely sideways.
"I want to go again."
