The traditional rivals will start their season with a clash at Mackay Park at 4.30pm on Saturday.

That match will follow the inaugural game for the South Coast United Marlins women's tackle side in the Katrina Fanning Shield.

If you're interested in a full day of footy, the Tigers juniors will be playing Tathra at Mackay Park from 9am on Saturday.

The Tigers and Sharks will be playing for the McClelland Family Shield.

Further south, the Narooma Devils will start their season with a tough road-trip to Bega to take on the Roosters at the Bega Rec Ground.

The League Tag side will play at 4pm, followed by first grade at 5pm.

Both Devils' sides will be looking to build on a strong 2021 which saw both teams make the finals.

Elsewhere in the group, the Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs will travel up the mountain to Jindabyne for a clash against the Snowy River Bears on Sunday.

The Tathra Sea Eagles, still the last premiers after their win in 2019, will host the Eden Tigers at Tathra Beach Country Club on Saturday.

The Bombala Blue Heelers have the bye in round one.

The Cooma Stallions have unfortunately dropped out of first grade in 2022 due to a lack of numbers, but will still have a reserve-grade side.
