The club announced on Facebook that it would return to Hanging Rock Oval on Tuesday, February 1, from 6pm for the first intalment of its 2022 preparations.
With big plans for the year, Boars president Peter Ryan expressed his excitement, particularly with several new faces expected to join the club.
"We're getting pretty excited about it now," Ryan said.
"There always is [that eagerness to start playing again], and this season's no different. We did have a number of retirements in the last year, but we also have quite a number of new players who have made contact with the club already and are keen to get to training and bolster our squad."
The players who expressed interest in playing for Batemans Bay this season have given Ryan hope that the club's numbers will be strong across the board.
This, he said, was crucial for success in the early portion of the year.
"You need to get those early wins in, and to get those early wins in, you need to hit the ground running," Ryan said.
"The men understand quite clearly that you need those early wins, you don't want to be chasing so early in the year, you want to be in a good spot from there."
2021 was a difficult season for the Boars because of more than just the statewide COVID-19 lockdowns. It also featured their worst run of injuries that Ryan can remember.
This season, he said, if the players can stay healthy, they are a good chance at making finals.
"Last year we started very strongly and just got belted with injuries," Ryan said.
"This year, we need to get those blokes back on the paddock, and bolster them with some new blokes, and we should come in pretty strong."
Both men and women are invited to take part in the first pre-season training session on February 1. After that first run, training will continue every Tuesday and Thursday night.
On March 12, the Boars will take part in a South Coast Monaro carnival, which will be held either in Broulee or Batemans Bay. The following week will feature a trial game, with an opponent yet to be confirmed.
