The Exhibition provides local CABBI members an opportunity to display pieces they have been working on during the COVID lockdown period. On display are a range of artforms, such as photography, artisan, fine arts and sculpture from local artists of the Eurobodalla.
Opening night is Monday, December 20 at 6pm with guest speaker Ms Di Jay, Deputy Chair at the South Coast's River of Art Festival. Ms Jay has most recently ventured into silversmithing and jewellery design, but has been immersed in a range of artforms, from visual and performing arts to urban design and architecture.
The public can visit the exhibition 10am - 4pm daily, but it is closed for Christmas Day. Finger food, alcoholic beverages and fruit juice are available. Entry is a gold coin donation.
Ms Margaret Ainscow (Fine Art), and Ms Mirabel Fitzgerald (Sculpture and Artisan) will be judging the artworks, having both taught art and worked in Australia and around the world. Visitors will be able to vote for their favourite piece, with the most popular work being awarded the People's Choice Award.
CABBI began in 1984 with a gallery in the Bay founded by Ken Taber and an enthusiastic band of artists. Now CABBI run "The Gallery" in Mogo, where they hold En Plein Air group on Tuesdays and a social art group every Saturday. They are a collective of locals of varying artistic abilities interested in developing their skills and trialling new techniques. An event such as the exhibition is also an opportunity for group members to gain experience in skills such as hanging, lighting and sponsorship.
The Exhibition will be COVID compliant and wheelchair accessible.
