According to Harley's AWL carer he is an affectionate boy who has responded well to lots of attention and a firm hand since coming into care.
"He has basic training but would benefit more from further training, although he is crate trained and puts himself to bed in his crate after dinner.
"He loves nothing more than a lie in the sun in a quiet spot."
Weighing in at 22 kg, Harley is not a small dog and he can be a bit rough when playing. He walks well on a lead with a 'gentle leader'.
Harley's carer said he is best suited to being an only dog as he is just overcoming being quite nervous of both other dogs and most men, although the offer of a treat and letting him come to you quickly overcomes this. Harley gets on well with children.
AWL recommends that Harley meet his prospective new owner and transitions with care to his new home.
"He has a life-long issue with his joints for which he needs injections twice a year and a daily joint supplement.
"Harley will be a loyal companion that with a little work will reward you in spades."
