The Dubbo-based hoop, and former Moruya resident, went to Marthaguy confident of a strong showing and in the process, helped two trainers to winning doubles - booting home two for Gilgandra's Bryan Dixon and another two for Dubbo trainer and partner, Brett Robb.
"I thought I had a good book. Snow (Brett Robb) has been booking my rides for me and he said they would go well - he is a better manager than me," Wright laughed."The surface played a big part on the day (and) I think all my horses just handled it, so I was lucky."
Wright won the first on the card, the 1100 maiden plate on Combogolong for Robb, before making it a race-to-race double when winning on the Dixon trained Renzulli in the 1200m Class Two Trophy.
Wright made it a winning hat-trick in the third race when the Robb trained Boys Home won the 1400m Class One Trophy, while she capped off her quadrella of winners in the last race of the day when helping Bizarro to a good win in the 800m Class Three Trophy.
The win on Boys Home meant the world to Wright as she owns the four-year-old that looks destined for a tilt at the NSW Picnic Racing Association Picnic Champion Series.
"I was so nervous before his race, which is unusual, but Snow and I own and train him ourselves," Wright said.
"We bought him at the end of last year for $1500 and we wanted to see if he could handle the dirt.
"We may try and scrape into the picnic championships with him now if he can go on with it. But he gave me a good feel. I think he could be a good horse once he learns his trade."
A bit of rain made the racing more than interesting at Marthaguy, and Wright praised the hard-working committee for getting the popular meeting off the ground in 2021.
"It's black dirt. They had 20ml (of rain) on Tuesday, which turned it into a bit of a bottomless heavy - It wasn't slippery, so it was still okay to race," Wright said.
"The day was good, it's always good at the real western tracks, the committees are really grateful to just have a meeting and have people come to support.
"They have been doing some improvements since last time they raced and got some new barriers, which were well needed."
Riding four winners kicks off a new and exciting period for Wright and Robb, who have since moved their training stables to Dubbo.
"So, we are both working full time in Dubbo. We had to leave the Nyngan staff behind, so we are very busy with a full stable of 14, but it's all going very well - as good as we had hoped," Wright said.
The reigning two-time picnic jockey of the year is now up to 19 wins for the season, and sits level with Leandro Ribeiro in the 2020/21 title race, and while she would love to take out the title for a third consecutive year, her focus has shifted slightly since moving to Dubbo.
"I think I've mellowed a bit. I'm more just enjoying riding our own horses and picking up rides for trainers I enjoy riding for," Wright said.
"I'm just trying to enjoy it. I think Snow and I will take boys home north, so you will see me there anyhow."
While Wright may have dominated proceedings at Marthaguy, Narromine jockey Ricky Blewitt won the feature on the card for another Dubbo trainer Dar Lunn.
Blewitt guided the dogged stager, Zoutenant to victory in the 1400m Marthaguy Cup, with the eight-year-old veteran of 104 starts recording his 13th win in the process.
