The Moruya Waterfront Hotel will host Aussie rock royalty when the Choirboys roll into town for a special Mother's Day concert.
The band, headed by lead singer Mark Gable, are most famous for the hit single 'Run to Paradise', and hat four other top-50 hits in Australia dating back to their beginnings in the late 1970s.
Gable, who was born in Captains Flat about 100km inland from Batemans Bay, said the band always enjoyed playing on the South Coast.
"We've been doing shows down there for decades," he said.
"We're playing in Moruya, and the last time we were there I was amazed at how much the town had improved since our early days.
"I really like Batemans Bay as well."
The Choirboys have played "about 100" shows on the South Coast, and Gable described the fans down here as "crazy".
"It's always been part of the touring agenda (the South Coast)," he said.
"They're crazy fans down here, a really wild bunch who like to have a really good time."
Although the Choirboys are entering their early 70s, Gable said they had no plans to stop touring anytime soon.
"We're still doing it, and we still love doing it," he said.
"I talk a lot during the show about the past and history of Aussie rock and roll.
"It's amazing that we've been able to continue doing this at our age - when you start a band in your 20s you just think it'll be a bit of fun, you never think you'll still be doing it 40 years later."
And although he didn't give away his setlist for Sunday's show, Gable said the band weren't planning to end the show with 'Run to Paradise'.
"We don't do a lot of covers, but we have been known to do Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Creedence Clearwater Revival," he said.
"I want to sneak an Aussie song in there - it's a Victorian band and we'll do one of their classics.
"We do a few streaming shows now, and the next one I want to do is Aussie classic songs, not rock songs, just classics, so the last one might be a strange one."
The Choirboys will play the Moruya Waterfront Hotel from 2pm on Sunday, May 9. Tickets are available online at https://events.humanitix.com/the-choirboys-come-to-paradise-live-in-moruya.
