On Friday, March 26, firefighter Luke Bramley of Berry said it has been a rewarding few days of work.
"Today we have got right into the residential side of it; people are coming out welcoming us and embracing us helping them," he said.
"It's very rewarding helping people."
Firefighters from Narooma, Batemans Bay, Jindabyne, Cooma, Berry and Moruya have formed a Region South 1 strike team.
"We are in the recovery phase helping people," Mr Bramley said.
He said there was plenty of damage to people's homes.
"The flood has dissipated now," he said.
"We are doing impact assessments of buildings and flood damage.
"We are assisting residents, doing a cleanup for them, helping move their damaged furniture, ripping up carpet and putting in on the street ready to be taken away."
Mr Bramley said another southern region team was being formed to swap out with the crew after Sunday.
