Bowls
Club Malua women's bowls
Last Monday we celebrated our Christmas Party at Raymond's Restaurant Malua Bay who opened especially for us on a day they are usually closed. It is a great venue and a wonderful day was had by all who attended.
Cabramatta general manager Nathanial Schryver and Club Malua board director Denis Beavan were both made welcome. After a delicious luncheon president Sue Beavan, Nathanial, Denis and secretary Pat Weekes presented money prizes to winners and runners-up of all club events won during this year.
Sue then presented certificates and badges to bowlers who have been bowling for 10, 20 and 30 years. Thanks to Kim Giannasca who made the beautiful cake which we all enjoyed. Sue thanked the staff at Raymond's for their great service, also wishing everyone a Happy Festive Season and Best Wishes for 2021.
Tuesday, there were 54 ladies on the green all dressed in their Christmas gear looking sparkly, especially Jeanette with flashing lights on her head. Bowls organiser David Thomas and president Sue Beavan welcomed everyone. Winners on a drawn card, Carmel Price, Judy Davis, Lisa Grice and Ellie Crompton. Runners-up, Bev McKague, Jeanette Roberts, Pat Weekes and Margaret Bridges. Jackpot of $676 still waiting to be won. Money club winner Karen Signor. Lucky door prize winners, Pat Bill and Julie Lewis. The set of Bowls that were donated by Women's Bowls NSW for a raffle were drawn lucky winner Robyn Butcher, bowls bag won by Peter Hutchison.
Carol Dutkiewicz thanked president Sue for the great job she is doing, all agree. Well done to Match Committee Yvonne Huddleston, Fran Lucas and Pat Bill. Thanks also to social committee who do a fantastic job every week. During the afternoon a group of young men came to play barefoot bowls, David announced they were not male strippers so lots of disappointed ladies. Good to hear Ken Hancock is out of ICU, all thinking of Paula and Family.
Tomakin Twist Tops bowls
There were 30 bowlers on the green last Sunday on a morning that started off with a few showers but soon the sun came out so it was pleasant. Winners with lowest winning margin, John Signor and Geoff Millard. Runners-up, Michael Voce and Karen James. Geoff selected Rink 3 to try for Jackpot .
Winning Skip on rink 3 was Cathy Egan who split the cards and came up with the Joker, so four very happy bowlers sharing $500 . Not bad for Ellie Crompton who was one of the winners on her first day at Twist Tops, am sure she will be back again.
Lucky number winners, on 11 Madge Elliott, 25 Jennie Hogan. Twist Tops will continue every week during the holiday season. Wishing everyone a Joyous and Blessed Christmas, best wishes in 2021.
