Renee Wolfe, 44, has lived in Mogo most of her adult life. She, her husband Peter and sons Ryan and Jayden lost everything on New Year's Eve.
The family then had a cabin built on their block, but it flooded in torrential rain.
"We lost all the precious little things we saved from the fire," Mrs Wolfe said.
The Minderoo converted shipping container has given them a base while they rebuild, but is a tight fit.
"We are thankful for it, but having two big teenage sons, it just wasn't viable to have us all in there," Mrs Wolfe said.
"So we privately purchased a cabin from a caravan park and had it delivered."
It will be months before they have a proper home. The family is struggling emotionally. Renee's anxiety has worsened.
"Every night, my head goes through every single drawer in the house and I remember what was in it," she said.
"I've constantly been thinking, 'oh, that was in there, my wedding dress was in there'."
The family has reached out for support.
Eurobodalla Shire Council has made families such the Wolfe's position a priority in approving DAs.
"The council has been great; our home plan has been approved and we're waiting to get started," Mrs Wolfe said.
"It will be therapeutic to see the house finally being built. We're finally on our way back to things being normal."
The family is sticking together and recovering.
