Since returning, Gay has celebrated Melbourne Cup Day with Eileen and minded Flora, Eileen's much loved dog, while Eileen and her husband had a couple of trips away themselves.

June Carter of Broulee last week had her daughter Tracey and granddaughter Alicia from Sydney staying. The girls had a lovely time together, walking the dog, cooking and the younger ones swimming most days at the local beach.

The Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber, as part of the Love the Bay campaign, is organising Light up the Bay, a colourful New Years Eve on the foreshore. It will include a lighting display to mark one year since the bushfires that devastated our town and to raise the spirits of the community and create hope, as we move forward after a very challenging year. Put that in your diary now.

As I recuperate from a knee replacement, I would like to give a pat on the back to Brenda, the physiotherapist at our Bay hospital. Brenda and her team put us through our exercises, so that we can build up our muscles and strength and get back on our feet as soon as possible. Thank you so much Brenda for your wonderful service.

Lesley Blackwood from Ulladulla, and formerly of Batemans Bay, has just returned from a wonderful caravan holiday with her daughter and family. She went by train and joined them in Byron Bay, spent some time there before heading to Grafton to see the lovely Jacarandas in full bloom. They then moved on to Yamba and finally to Forster, before Lesley left and journeyed home to Ulladulla.

Get your diaries out for this one. The Red Door Cafe in Moruya will be holding a Car Boot Sale at St John's Anglican Church, Page Street, on Saturday 12^th December, from 8am to 1 pm.

The cost is only $10 per car, which can be paid on arrival. There will be sausage sandwiches, tea/coffee and slices and cold drinks on sale, plus a cake and book stall.
