Max joined Probus in 1998 and was elected President in 2004.
He followed with a year as Secretary. Moruya Probus joined with other Eurobodalla clubs from 2007 to 2010 for a combined BBQ and, with Max's leadership, Moruya club continued in subsequent years with their own BBQ and games day.
Max was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in 2013. Max was elected president in 2014 and again in 2018, the only member to serve as president more than once. He was awarded Life Membership in 2015.
During his membership, Max's legal knowledge and organising ability assisted in keeping the club operating effectively and efficiently. He will be missed.

Roaring to play - and great to watch
With COVID restrictions easing and full contact training now permitted, the South Coast Monaro Rugby Union season start date has been set for July 18, being a 10-round, plus two-week finals series.
The Batemans Bay Boars have a scheduled trial day this Saturday, with games against Shoalhaven and Wests Canberra commencing from 1pm at Hanging Rock. Strict health protocols will be adhered to, with spectators able to purchase from the canteen, but asked to utilise the sanitisation stations and register their details. We will also allocate car parking space to view the games.
A draft draw for the season has been distributed to clubs and will be finalised this week. An early round showdown with local rivals the Broulee 'Dolphins' will get players and supporters excited. Great numbers have been attending training with some new faces, and the Boars will be looking to advance further than their Semi Final appearance last year. Player depth and injuries played a contributing role in an early exit last year, but should not factor this year with a shortened season and strong roster.

Films wanted for regional online festival
Far South Film, an association of professional and emerging filmmakers in the South East region of NSW, is calling for submissions from regional filmmakers around Australia for its inaugural Far South Film Festival.
Due to COVID-19, this year's festival will be screened online on Sunday, August 23, with a number of filmmaker Q&As and awards announcements.
The festival showcases the unique, the beautiful, the scary, and moving stories made by the people from the lesser known areas of our island continent, who know those stories and places the best.
At least two of the key creatives (Writer/Director/Producer/Filmmaker) must reside in a regional area in Australia.
Film submissions close on July 31.
There are two film length categories: under 10 minutes and 10-30 minutes.
The major prize will be $1000 for Best Film with a range of other prizes for different categories, including Best Director, Best Use of a Regional Setting, Best Youth Film and a Diversity Award.
Far South Film is seeking more festival sponsors for filmmaker prizes and marketing support in return for having their business promoted through the festival to online audiences around Australia.
More details are available on the festival website at farsouthfilmfestival.com
