Transport for NSW said the session went online following NSW Health advice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Program Director Paul Vecovski and Project Development Manager Dan McClure answered live questions about the Moruya bypass, which is part of a $1.5 billion upgrade to the Princes Highway between Jervis Bay Road and the Victorian border.
Among the comments on Facebook, many online attendees were keen to know where the placement of the bypass would be and what the construction timeframe would look like. Some had concerns for how and whether land owners would be consulted; others were concerned the bypass might not benefit the town.
Mr Vecovski and Mr McClure said they did not yet have a preferred option yet, but hoped to get there by the end of the year. They wanted to use as many local services as possible in the construction.
Mr McClure said the project team would work closely with planners of the Eurobodalla Regional Hospital once funds had been allocated for the hospital, to make sure both projects aligned.
