Malua Bay Women's Bowls
Last Tuesday we had a very pleasant day for bowls, not too hot or cold, just perfect. Firstly, I must say thank you to the ladies from Catalina Golf Club who provided morning tea for us before we started our morning of bowls, what a beautiful gesture and very much appreciated by the Malua Bay ladies.

President Robyn Butcher welcomed everyone, Sue Palmer who was finally able to return home, visitors Jillian Clarke and Gloria Harper. It was wonderful to have 50 bowlers on the green, also that we can bowl whilst the demolition is in progress, amazing how much has already been done.
Bowls Organiser Jay Breust has put up final list for Pennant teams so now we can get down to the serious business of team practice for the coming season.
Jay also mentioned how well Malua Bay Stingrays are doing in the Open District Pairs, with 7 out of 12 teams in Finals, he is now up for a grudge match against his Dad!!
Welcome to our new greenkeeper Adam who I believe has great credentials.
Winners on Rink 3, Pat Biddolph, Gloria Harper and Jenny Blyth the three sisters. Runners-up, Sonia Frey, Bess Holloway, Jillian Clarke and Pat Bill.
Round 2 of Major Singles was bowled on Wednesday with some very close scores. Kim Giannasca defeated Robyn Butcher 25/24 what a great match !! Carol Dutkiewicz defeated Sharon Cutmore 26/16. Alison Innes defeated Margaret Bridges 25/20. Jenny Blyth defeated Serena Short 25/21. Cathy Egan defeated Fran Lucas 27/25, well done to everyone.
Congratulations to Jay who will be taking part in the Ultimate Bowls Championship.
Tomakin Twist Tops
Well we managed to get our 18 ends in on the green Sunday morning before the beautiful rain set in. Numbers were down a little only 20 present, probably unsure of the weather.
