Country rock stars Nick and Tom Wolfe, who grew up on a berry farm in Neika, about 20 minutes drive south-west of Hobart, are die-hard Carlton fans.
But the four-time Golden Guitar winners agreed they would be more than willing to commit football's greatest sin and support a second side coming from the Apple Isle.
"It's ridiculous the AFL haven't brought one in yet," Tom told AAP at a pub during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
"I really hope it happens one day, because it's an AFL state and it would be so good for Tasmania.
"We could write the theme song, that would actually be the coolest thing."
Until then the band, also comprising Nick and Tom's mate Brodie Rainbird, is working away on their fifth album.
New song "Hey Brother" was nominated for both single of the year and video clip of the year at the 2020 Tamworth Country Musical Festival.
But Nick says they want to take the time to get it right after finally breaking their Golden Guitar hoodoo in 2019 with Country Heart.
This saw them take home album of the year, contemporary country album of the year, and group or duo of the year, along with song of the year for "Ain't Seen it Yet", which was co-written with Erik Dylan.
"Country Heart was such a game-changer for us so we didn't want to rush anything," Nick said.
"We want the next thing to be even better."
Lee Kernaghan has had his eye on the country rockers since they finished runners-up on Australia's Got Talent in 2012 - long before their Golden Guitar haul made them Tamworth icons.
The Wolfe Brothers featured on "Till it Ends", the closing track of Kernaghan's latest album - Backroad Nation - which was in 2020 nominated for vocal collaboration of the year, and have played with the country legend countless times.
"I absolutely believed in them from day one," Kernaghan told AAP.
"And they've gone on to prove themselves as extraordinary songwriters and musicians, as well as great entertainers.
"It's great to see the boys really starting to break out now as major stars - they're rock solid country people and I love them."
