In their round four match against Fairfield-Liverpool at Hurstville Oval on Saturday, Engelbrecht's side won the toss and elected to bat.
Behind 106 from Matthew Hopkins and a handy 21 from Engelbrecht, St George posted 325 from their 97 overs.
The visitors reached 0/16 and will resume on day two needing a further 309 runs to claim first-innings points.
The next day, St George won their Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup fixture against UTS North Sydney 2/106 to 8/102, with Engelbrecht taking 0/17 from his two overs.
St George are now 3-1 on the T20 Cup season and will next face Sydney on November 24 in the second last Sydney Sixers Conference pool game before finals.
Another Shoalhaven product in action in Sydney first grade at the weekend was Philip Wells (North Nowra-Cambewarra).
Wells and his Campbelltown-Camden side are in a strong position going into day two of their match against Gordon at Chatswood Oval.
The Ghosts were sent to the field first and bowled out the hosts for 246 in the 64th over, before the visitors reached 4/117 at stumps.
Wells is the top-scorer thus far, hitting 57 from 55 balls - a knock which included 12 boundaries.
Then on Sunday, Nowra's Adam Ison lined up for the Ghosts in their T20 fixture against Bankstown at Bankstown Oval.
Unfortunately Ison's side went down 3/146 to 6/145, seeing them drop to 1-2 on the season.
