As usual we welcomed visitors from far and wide. The Willmott family travelled from Sydney, Melbourne and Sale for a get-together in Batemans Bay and couldn't miss the opportunity to add our parkrun to their resume. Special mention to Cathy Willmott who walked the 5km course wearing a moon boot!
Eight of our runners and walkers managed to achieve personal best times this week - congratulations to Alan Andrews, Barry King, Ken Hogg, Pedro Oliveira, Anne Davies, Tracy Mayo, Roy Syne and Julie Amphlett.
As with every other Saturday, this week's event was made possible by our fantastic team of volunteers led by Run Director Neil Mackay. A big thank you to timekeeper Bede Webster, handing out finish tokens Gail Legg, barcode scanner Kym Bayley, marshals Rob Ryan and Roy Frylink and tail walker John Regan.
Fun, fitness, socialising and the opportunity to do some enjoyable volunteer work - parkrun has it all!
All runners and walkers are welcome to join us on the 5km course, including dogs (one per person, well controlled and on a short lead). We meet every Saturday morning at 7.50am for the 8am start. You can register online at www.parkrun.com.au to obtain a barcode which you must print and bring along with you every week to get a recorded result. The venue is Rotary Park near the Marina roundabout in Batemans Bay.
