Happy Birthday wishes to Julie Lewis and Gayl Vidgen.
Well done to our Senior Fours team who last week competed in Tamworth at state level.
The team consisted of Pat Weekes, Paula Hancock, Yvonne Huddleston and Sue Beavan.
The team won their first three matches against St.John's Park, Castle Hill and Pottsville but unfortunately lost the final match to Double Bay on a very fast green to become the state runners-up, a fantastic achievement.
Tomakin Twist Tops
Another fabulous day for 36 bowlers on the greens at Tomakin, nice and warm, although quite windy to keep us on our toes.
Welcome home to Jennie and Steven Hogan who have been on a holiday up north, lucky them.
President Steven welcomed everyone with a special mention of visitors from Wodonga who joined us for the day.
Next Sunday we will have travelling bowlers from Moruya and Worrigee join us for the morning, then the following weekend we are off to Yass for our yearly get-together.
Winners were those with lowest number of winning ends, David Daverin and Pat Canny. Runners-up, Tony Dobson and Tim Brown.
Pat selected Rink 12 to try for Jackpot, Val Toyer did the honours and came up with 10 of Diamonds, 1 off the Joker. Breakfast trays won by Ron Miller, visitor from Wodonga and Roz Greenhalgh.
Tomakin Ladies Bowling
Congratulatory cards were received by our State Pennant 4s Champions from both Malua Bay Women's Bowling Club and the Tamworth Women's Bowling Club.
What a kind gesture, especially from Tamworth who our women had played and beaten in the rounds prior to the final. Thank you.
The final of the Club 4s was played on Tuesday between Colleen Beadon, Milka Starkovski, Ingrid Blasius and Ruth Ebsworth defeating Di Ziebell, Val Toyer, Ute Krook and Beth Eppelstun.
Great game ladies, great to watch. We might add what a stellar year Colleen is having. She is playing wonderful bowls and is a pleasure to watch and have to represent the club.
This week's social games were won for the least number of winning ends, on a count back, by Daphne Stone and Jo Harding with the runners up Flo Young and Janet Smith.
One of our newer ladies, Pat Jones, played for the jackpot but was unsuccessful so it will jackpot to next week.
Lucky raffle winners were Liz Faith and Val Toyer.

District Pennants 2020

Women's Bowls Classic Pairs, Tuross Head
A field of 24 teams of bowlers participated in the recent Tuross Head annual Classic Pairs Tournament.
Teams came from as far as Eden, Merimbula, Tathra, Canberra and Queanbeyan, as well as from our local District.
There were some very close games with quality bowls played over the two-and-a-half day event.
The final placings were not determined until the completion of the final match.
In this match, second were playing third and both needed a healthy margin to grab first place.
They had quite an audience watching the outcome of this important game.
Eventually, Irene MacDonald and Gail Page-Davies of Tuross Head were too strong for the Queanbeyan ladies, Donna Seddon and Mandy Stitt.
With their 10-shot win, MacDonald and Page-Davies were able to leap-frog into first place and claim the coveted first prize winnings.
Close on their heels, separated by two points was another skilled Tuross side of Carol Williams and Rita Downie who came in second.
They were both five-game winners.
Behind them were the three, four-game winners of Leslie Gruber and Nerida Black of Queanbeyan in third place, Donna Seddon and Many Stitt of Queanbeyan in fourth place, and Di Lockhart and Denise Falvey of Tathra in fifth place.
The sixth prize went to Tuross Head locals, Denise Lidbury and Sue Fahey, who topped the ten, three-game winners with a mighty margin score of 57-19 points ahead of the next pair.
Special thanks to Rose Farrington, Bowls Organiser, who leads a willing committee to organise a great tournament.
She presented the players each day with lovely small mementos of their attendance, many of the gifts handmade by Rose.
The players enjoyed delicious morning teas each day, followed up on the last day by a barbecue lunch provided by Tuross Country Club.
Tuross Head Country Club look forward to welcoming players again in 2020 for this competitive tournament .
