Sapphire Coast Aged Care employees Peter and Deb Sanders tied the knot in front of a beaming crowd of the nursing home's residents and staff.
Peter has been working at the aged care home for 18 years and is now in charge of maintenance, while new wife Deb has been a nurse for the past two-and-a-half years.
They met while Deb was working at another of Sapphire Coast Aged Care's facilities, Imlay House at Pambula.
Peter said he and Deb felt honoured and grateful that the residents were so happy for them.
"It was their idea [to have the wedding at Hillgrove House] - when they found out we were getting married they said we should have it here.
He said it was important to note "this is their home - they invited us into their home".
"It was fantastic. The residents had a great time. they decorated the wedding arch and decorated the tables - they had a ball.
"Everyone was excited leading up to it, they were excited on the day and they are still talking about it now.
"A lot of them have said it brought back memories of their own weddings."
Peter said it wasn't a difficult decision to make regarding a venue for their wedding.
"The nursing home has been such a big part of my life for many years," he said.
"And Deb wanted to share the day with the residents as well. She has so much respect for them."
Wedding celebrant for the special service was Christine Kaine.
