The Eurobodalla Shire boasts another gold-medal winner after Madison Howard-Windley helped Australia win the basketball at the Special Olympics' World Games in Abu Dhabi earlier this month.
Ms Howard-Windley, 24, and her team beat Spain 24-20 in the division one gold-medal match. The men's team also won gold in division two.
Ms Howard-Windley has an intellectual disability, and works at Yumaro Industries when she's not on the basketball court. She is coached at home by Kathy Godwin.
The World Games in Abu Dhabi featured 7000 athletes, 4000 coaches and delegations, 3000 honoured guests, 4000 families, and 21,000 volunteers from more than 190 nations.
The games ran from March 8 to March 22 in the capital of the United Arab Emirates under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
