Malua Bay Women
Last Tuesday there were 36 social bowlers and two matches in semi-final of club singles. Once again social bowlers played only 18 ends due to the hot weather.
Welcome to new bowler Colleen Ashby who, I believe, has been bowling with Sunday Sippers. Lovely to have her now with the ladies.
Olga Geshwend defeated Sue Beavan, Paula Hancock defeated Kim Giannasca.
Winners on Drawn card were Judy Davis, Janet McKay and Nancy White and runner-up was Olga Geshwend.
Other winning teams were: Gayl Vidgen, Liz Perry and Jeanette Roberts; Robyn Butcher, Ellie Crompton, Shirley Edwards and Julie Lewis; Sue Palmer, June Williams and Helen Rees; Eileen Penman, Gay Biggs and Jean Beeley; Joan Rimmer, Gwen Ware and Lyn Hardy.
Cecily White received lots of cheers when we were told she forgot to put her name down to play. Birthday wishes to Sue Beavan.
Money Club winners were Gayl Vidgen and Di Mooy and raffle winners were Robyn Butcher, Pat Biddolph and Janet McKay.
Best wishes to Paula Hancock, Pat Weekes, Yvonne Huddleston and Sue Beavan as they travel to Jindabyne for district playoffs.
On Thursday the final of singles was played. Well done to Paula Hancock and Olga Geshwend for a very exciting match for all the spectators who came to watch. Results were very close and the game could have gone either way but congratulations to Olga who took the lead on the last few ends to become the victor.
Tomakin Twist Tops
Last Sunday there were 68 bowlers on the greens enjoying their morning of bowls.
Moruya bowlers were warmly welcomed as they joined Twisties for the morning. Breakfast trays were won by Jeff Halls and Donna Bacon.
Winners were Pat Wagstaff, Steve Maher and Ernie Smith and runners-up were Steve Blake, Di Ziebell and Barrie Stone.
Patrick Wheelahan drew the cards for Jackpot but no luck for the Irish! The Award this week went to our President Steven Hogan who last week was bowling Pennants at Bodalla. He went to get his shoes out of his bag and realised they were his wife's.
Thanks for the info Annie and Tony Birmingham whilst yours truly was at son's 50th birthday party in Sydney. Much appreciated.
