RMS said works began on Tuesday, March 12, and would end on Friday, March 15. Workers will be on site from 7am to 6pm every day.
They said lane closures were affecting traffic in both directions, and a reduced speed limit would apply.
Roadworks are also continuing on the Princes Highway between Clyde Street and North Street as part of the Batemans Bay bridge works.
Both directions are affected by lane closures, and a reduced speed limit of 40 kilometres per hour is enforced in the area.
Concrete barriers are in place to close the southbound slow lane, and this closure will remain in place long-term.
