More than 200 people packed the starting line for the 9am start to the race, one of the biggest crowds at the event in recent memory.
The 1.4-kilometre course starts at Shark Bay Beach, makes its way around the headland, and finishes at South Broulee Beach.
The first swimmers started arriving at the finish line after approximately 20 minutes.
One of the highlights of the event this year, and every year, is James Gribble. Gribble has been a quadriplegic since 2008, but has been a mainstay at the even in recent years.
