A Eurobodalla Shire Council spokeswoman said the ramp would be closed for five days from Monday, February 25, while council continued major upgrades of the facility.

"Crews will raise the level of the car park and boat ramp to improve access, as it is currently subject to flooding," she said.

"The parking area will be formalised and include a new kerb and guttering, a new footpath, road surfacing, and improved drainage.

"The new design includes 19 parking spaces, including nine long parks and an accessible space.

"The car park is the final work in a three-stage project that has also included upgrading the boat ramp itself and constructing an accessible toilet block at the end of Lakeside Drive."

The spokeswoman said the works were possible thanks to a generous government grant.

"The $482,749 project is thanks to $225,000 of funding from the NSW Government's Boating Now program and council funds," she said.

The council said the boat ramp should be reopened by Friday, March 1, weather permitting. Kayaks will be able to be launched during the construction period.
