A temporary jetty will be constructed on the southern foreshore to assist with the movement of construction materials onto the river. Cranes and barges will also be used to build the bridge.
In the meantime, a number of smaller steps will be taken by the Project team.
The relocation of utilities at Clyde Street, Old Punt Road, Wharf Road, and the Princes Highway will be carried out before major works start.
A utility relocation work site and temporary boat ramp will move into Korners Park. The playgrounds in Korners Park will remain open until Monday, January 7, and the two shelters and barbeques will be available until the end of January.
A new site compound on the corner of Princes Highway and Clyde Street will be fenced off to complete underwater utility relocation. This will mean some changes to traffic in the area, but two-way traffic and pedestrian access will both be maintained.
A new site office and community information centre will be set up at the former Batemans Bay Bowling Club, and is expected to be completed early this year.
From March, new compounds will be set up and used to store construction materials during major works. These locations include the corner of Kings Highway and Old Punt Road, the corner of Clyde Street and Princes Highway, Korners Park, and Old Punt Reserve.
Temporary toilets, including disabled access, will be build near the Clyde Street boat ramp, and the existing ones will be removed.
