The weather turned it on for the Batemans Bay Parkrun on Saturday with 65 runners and walkers taking part and completing the 5km. There were 10 new runners who turned up for their first appearance, which is always lovely to see.

Volunteers this week came from within the parkrun community so thanks to run director Bede Webster and helpers Bernadine Lambert, Gabriel Smith, Kate Halton, Mat Lambert, Michael Kennedy, Netta Koeck and Roy Counsell.
Two of the more competitive runners battled it out for first across the line. Well done Neil McKay and Tim Cowley. It is always great to watch good friends competing with each other in a friendly environment. Lots of others scored themselves a PB this week as well. Congratulations to: Angus Turner, Louise Counsell, Donna Turner, Kath Perry, Tony Dawe, Bruce Perry, Braith Porteous John Regan and David McCann.
First time runners this week included mother and son team Felicity and Rielly Collins.
Members are volunteering again this weekend, followed by Capital Coast Steel on December 15 and Raine and Horne on December 22.
Any other groups that would like to take over the volunteer roles each week are always welcome. You need a minimum of six people and you will always have an experienced run director on hand.
Numbers are growing each week. Parkrun is such a great event to begin and maintain a level of fitness in a happy and encouraging environment.
We love welcoming new runners and walkers each week. We are happy for everyone to pace themselves. It is not about being fast, faster or the faster. It is just about finishing the 5km in your own time.
