Sixty people attended the Maloney’s Beach “Pink Drinks” event. Organiser Jude Rafferty said the evening was “fantastic”.
“We played boules, had a sausage sizzle, a raffle, and an auction,” she said. “The ‘pinking up’ of Long Beach front gardens was just divine. Although we only had six entries, they all came with a message. Winner Molly was doing the pink thing for her grandmother who has had breast cancer. She was dressed in a pink dress on a pink flamingo, with pink bike, scooter, balloons, tea set, pink piano and teddy.”
Ms Rafferty thanked businesses who donated goods and residents of Long Beach and Maloney’s Beach: “We have raised over $7100.”
